When you buy a cut-flower-Hydrangea, it is important to know a few things: First of all it is important in which stadium you bought the flower. Fresh Hydrangea flowers ask more attention than the dried ones. To enjoy them in both stadiums there are a few things necessary to remember; put them in a clean vase, with clean water and in case they are not completely through the colour, use cut-flower feed. When a flower becomes loose, the best you can do is cut an inch off the stem, and the flower will draw up in a few hours. Cut-flower feed is available at your local flower-specialist, ask for shrub chrysal or special hydrangea cut-flower feed. The dried, ‘leathered' flowers would not get loose as fast as the fresh ones, so they don't need feed so badly. In a few weeks they will dry, through which you can enjoy your hydrangeas for a very long time as a dry-flower! |
